I haven’t been blogging for about a month, I know. After my last thread was published, Nonie came over, then Dinar and Prila the next day, then I took the girls out for distillery tour at Glenfiddich where they have developed a taste for a very expensive whisky (no less than 35 years old) and tried haggis (and like it!). And then off we went to Edinburgh, Paris, Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome, London, and Bath.
It was a great holiday, we have seen a lot and eaten more than a lot. Moreover, I got chances to meet my friends who happen to be in the city we visited. We met my ex colleague from L’Oréal in Paris and he took us to a tiny local restaurant serving very tasty escargot. It wasn’t the first time I had escargot but it was the first time I had them served in a special plate and cutleries and it took several minutes to master the art of holding the thong and forking out the juicy meat. The maître d‘ was teasing my ex colleague since he was the only guy among 4 Asian girls, either she thinks he was extremely lucky or a pimp!
An old friend who is originally from Scotland, was posted in Indonesia a few years a go where we met and hung out, and now is living in Houston, coincidently was in London the same day I was there, so we arranged to catch up. Williamto is another friend I met in London whom I have known for almost ten years. We met when we both worked in Sydney, and the friendship continues despite me leaving for Jakarta and him staying back in Sydney. He has been living in London since last year and it was a great pleasure to meet him again after our last catch-up in Jakarta a few years a go. And of course I met Maggie, a friend from high school who has been living in a very gorgeous part of south of England. I would be back in England next month for her baby’s christening, but there was no way I missed the chance of having full English breakfast. Very unhealthy, yet very tasty.
If you see my facebook’s updated pictures, I must warn you it was just the preliminary pictures taken by my iphone. I have literally thousands of pictures saved in 2 pieces of 4GB memory cards, waiting to be uploaded! So just be ready in the next couple of weeks!
The most memorable moment? Umm… taking a picture with a gorgeous, 6-pack, half-naked guy at Abercrombie and Fitch London. Unfortunately I really needed to pee so I didn’t really pay attention to the gorgeous staffs who are least 6-feet tall with perfect hair, high cheekbones, strong jaws and flatboard stomachs which you could literally see even though they are hidden underneath the t-shirts! I’d certainly go back to that store!
Will see you soon in another post!
