Guest Post: Things to Do in Bali with Children

By Jose Gil Tecson

Are you looking for a great destination for a spring getaway with the kids this year? Why not consider exploring lush and beautiful Bali, Indonesia? Spring is an ideal time of the year to visit Bali as it is the dry season. Also, the Balinese adore children and everywhere you go your family will get a warm and welcoming reception.

Bali is a beautiful and exciting holiday destination with gorgeous beaches, rich and colourful culture, ancient history, delicious food and plenty for families to enjoy. Here are a few ideas for what you can do with your kids while enjoying your trip to Bali:

Waterbom Park

One of the best attractions for kids in Bali is Waterbom, which is a huge water theme park that will keep them entertained for hours. They will love the seventeen slides, the kiddie pool, the water cannons and especially the water bomb battle zone. If you can go on a weekday, you will beat the crowds.

Watch a Balinese Dance

Give your kids a taste of the local traditions by taking them to see a Balinese cultural dance performance. Most of the big hotels feature dance performances every evening where you can see performers swirling around to lively music with their colourful costumes. Another great place to see dancing is the village of Batubulan, where dancers perform several times per day on an outdoor stage that resembles a traditional Balinese temple.

The Elephant Safari Park

This fun park is approximately one hour from Ubud, Bali and it gives children a great opportunity to learn about elephants and watch these big beautiful beasts playing and bathing in the lake. Children will also be able to enjoy hand feeding the elephants, taking photos with them and even going for an elephant ride.

Go Scuba Diving

Did you know that children as young as eight can learn scuba diving in Bali? The PADI Bubblemaker course is designed for youngsters and if your children are older than ten they can take the adult course with you. Bali is a beautiful place to go scuba diving as there are many fascinating wrecks to explore beneath the surface.

Bali is a great destination for a family holiday this springtime with your kids, so why not book a flight ticket with your Hong Kong travel agency? Booking your trip with your Hong Kong travel agency gives you a number of advantages, as they will be able to help you plan an ideal family getaway and will be there for you if things go wrong.

Also, when you book your travels with Flight Centre, you can enjoy the ‘Lowest Airfare Guarantee’. This means that if you find a cheaper flight from Hong Kong to Bali featured anywhere else, you can show it to your Flight Centre agent and they will beat it by $10 as well as give you a $100 gift voucher for future travel. This means that you can enjoy a fun family getaway in Bali for cheaper than you might think!
